My name is Ghislain Seguin, ex-civil engineer now fulltime gardener. Soon to be 70 years old I have retired about 20 years ago. Married 45 years to my lovely wife Therese, we have three children... all grownups with their families. I reside on a one-acre lot along the Ottawa River between Ottawa and Montreal more precisely in L'Orignal, Ontario.  After building my new home in 1985 I have developed many garden beds beginning in 1994 using perennials, ornemental shrubs and specimen trees. My passion for hostas started in 2001 after buying 4 new hostas. The year 2002 ended with 32 varieties; year 2003 ended with 101 varieties. Year 2004 was an out-of-the-ordinary year and I presently have 242 different named hostas and a total of 515 hostas in my yard. My goal is to reach a collection of 300 varieties. My wife and I love nature in general. We both work hard physically, and we prefer to die "used up" rather than "rusted".
